Requirements for All Officers:


•    Attend ¾ of meetings per month
•    Participate in preparation and implementation of orientation, practices, sessions, and officer workshops.
•    Must attend majority of service projects on and off campus
(Majority is defined by the Phi Theta Kappa officers)

The duties of the president shall be as follows:

a.    Preside over all business meetings.
b.    Appoint and establish any necessary committees.
c.    Vote only in case of a tie.
d.    Serve as an ex-officio member on all committees.
e.    Present business to the organization.
f.    Represent the organization at all times.
g.    Appoint a committee to review and/or revise the chapter bylaws annually.
h.    Appoint a committee to prepare the Annual Report to be sent to Headquarters each spring.


The duties of the vice president shall be as follows:


a.    Perform all the duties of the president in the event of his absence.
b.    Take roll at the meetings.
c.    Coordinate all committees.
d.    Head the committee reviewing the chapter bylaws and the annual report.
e.    Act as program chairman.


Historian shall:


a.    Keep the official chronological list.
b.    Maintain the chapter scrapbook.
c.    Head the scrapbook committee.
d.    Maintain display box and bulletin boards for Phi Theta Kappa
e.    Take photographs at all chapter activities.


Administrative Assistant shall:


a.    Keep a full record of chapter functions.
b.    Take minutes at each chapter meeting and present those minutes at the following meeting.
c.    Submit to Regional Coordinator and Headquarters reports of chapter activities and Five-Star Chapter Update forms.
d.    Keep current files of photos, flyers, etc.
e.    Place all records in the official record book throughout each academic year.


Treasurer shall:


a.    Open and/or maintain a bank account for the chapter.
b.    Receive all money and write all checks.
c.    Keep a set of books, which shall be audited by the chapter advisor and notarized before the office is relinquished.
d.    Make a report of finances at each business meeting.
e.    Place all records in the official files of the chapter at the end of each academic year.
f.    Keep record of all payments of dues.


Student Government Representative shall:


a.    Attend Student Government Association meetings.
b.    Communicate points of Student Government Association issues at meetings.
c.    Prepare chapter newsletters each quarter and draft press releases whenever possible for submission to college and community newspapers.
d.    Maintain the Enhanced Member log.

Webmaster shall:

a.    Maintain chapter website at least once a week.
b.    Maintain officer email accounts.
c.    Update and regulate blackboard website.
d.    Oversee operations of social networking sites.
